About this place
Operating as a bakery by day, this neighborhood storefront transforms into Yorimichi Sakaba Nisoku no Waraji after dark. Opening its doors only on Friday and Saturday evenings, the standing bar welcomes guests to an easygoing counter for clever small plates and drinks.
A key draw is the house-made fruit syrup drinks, which evolve with the seasons. Guests can order the syrups mixed with sparkling soda, black tea, or soy milk. For those abstaining from alcohol, the mixtures can also be prepared as soft drinks, allowing flexibility depending on the mood.
The food revolves around a collection of dishes titled Bakery Fillings. The revived seared cheese curry, for instance, draws directly on the spiced curry recipe from a popular bakery curry bun, served alongside sliced baguette. Warm and chilled plates suited for bread and wine include a steaming cream gratin laced with aromatic porcini sauce and melted cheese, alongside simple bites like figs with cream cheese.
Beyond fruit-syrup cocktails, the beverage list encompasses weekly wines by the glass, the Asagaya specialty soy milk highball, and bottled Heartland lager. It offers a low-key, friendly stop to duck into on weekend nights for a quick drink and a savory bite before heading home.
